Store activity

The orders, revenue, average order and failed payments figures on the Overview screen and Dashboard widget, and exactly how they are counted.

With WooCommerce active, Commerce Health → Overview shows a Store activity section, and the Dashboard widget shows a one-line version. It compares the last 7 days with the 7 days before, so you can see at a glance whether your store is doing less than usual.

The four figures

Figure What it shows
Orders Orders that went through in the last 7 days, with the change against the 7 days before.
Revenue The order totals, minus refunds, with the change against the 7 days before.
Average order Revenue divided by orders.
Failed payments Orders whose payment failed in the last 7 days.

The Dashboard widget shows the same thing in one line: “Last 7 days: 42 orders, $3,150 revenue, 3 failed payments.”

How it is counted

  • An order that went through is one with the status Processing, Completed or On hold. Failed orders are counted separately as failed payments. Cancelled, pending and refunded-in-full orders are not counted as orders that went through.
  • Test orders are never counted. They are cancelled, so the Test order tools do not change these figures.
  • Revenue is summed from at most 1,000 orders per week. A busier store still sees the order counts, but revenue and average order show a dash (—).
  • The percentage change appears only when the earlier week has a figure to compare with.
  • Figures are cached for 10 minutes, so a new order can take a few minutes to appear.

What it reads

Order counts, totals and dates only. It never reads customer names, addresses or emails, and nothing is sent to Kodenzo. It works with WooCommerce’s high-performance order storage turned on or off. Without WooCommerce the section is not shown.

What it is not

It is a quick pulse check, not analytics: there are no products, customers or charts. The figures do not affect your health score and are not diagnostics, so the plugin still has 34 checks.

The same figures appear in the store health email, and a long gap in orders raises the orders-gone-quiet warning.
