Shipping, coupon and theme checks

The three extra diagnostic checks PRO adds to every scan, with their severities and limits.

With PRO active, three more checks run alongside the free plugin’s checks whenever a scan runs (manually, or automatically through Continuous Diagnostics). They are read-only: they never edit shipping, coupons or your theme.

Check Severity Limit
Shipping Validation High when a class is uncovered Up to 50 published products are looked at per shipping class.
Coupon Validity Low (expired or used up) or Medium (broken) The first 200 published coupons are inspected.
Theme Health Critical (broken) or Medium (update available) Uses the update information WordPress already holds.

Shipping Validation

Finds shipping classes assigned to published products that no shipping zone actually prices. A store can pass the basic shipping check yet still ship a “Fragile” or “Oversized” product for nothing, because no zone’s method covers that class.

  • Free Shipping and Local Pickup cover every class. Flat Rate needs a cost for the class, a “no class cost” fallback, or a base cost.
  • Other shipping methods (for example from third-party plugins) are assumed to handle classes themselves, so only a gap PRO can confirm is flagged.
  • A class that no published product uses is ignored, and nothing runs if shipping is turned off.

Coupon Validity

Flags published coupons that are useless:

  • Low: already expired, or already at their usage limit.
  • Medium: a discount that does nothing (0% or over 100%, or a fixed amount of zero or less), or restricted only to products or categories that no longer exist. If a coupon of this kind exists, the whole check is Medium.

Theme Health

Flags an active theme that WordPress reports as broken (Critical), or one with an update available (Medium). It feeds the Theme bar on the PRO Health screen. The update check reads the update data WordPress already keeps, so it is only as fresh as WordPress’s own update check.

What these checks cannot do

  • They don’t test a real checkout, so a coupon or shipping rate that is configured correctly but still misbehaves with a particular plugin is not caught.
  • Stores with more than 200 coupons, or a shipping class with more than 50 products, are only partly inspected.
