Test orders with shipping, a coupon and a tax comparison, run by hand or on a schedule that is off by default.

1.2.0
This version needs the free Commerce Health plugin, version 1.5.0 or newer, for test orders.
- Added: Test orders. A new Test orders screen places a clearly marked test order through your real checkout, by hand or on a schedule. It adds a shipping rate (with a physical test product), a temporary 10% coupon and a tax comparison to the free plugin’s basic test, deletes the order afterwards unless you choose to keep it, and checks the database for anything left behind. See PRO test orders and the schedule.
- Added: scheduled test orders. They are off by default, run every 6, 12 or 24 hours (24 by default), and never run between 01:00 and 05:00 in your site’s time. They can only be switched on after a manual test order has passed. A failure raises an issue and sends an email. A run that could not run because of the store’s setup is shown but is not a failure. If a test order cannot be fully removed, or the test product is missing, the schedule switches itself off, raises an issue and emails you.
- Added: the test product can be physical or virtual, your choice, and can be regenerated, which deletes the old product and creates a new one.
- Added: a banner on every PRO screen while scheduled test orders are on, with Pause and Delete test orders buttons.
- Changed: History lists recent test orders. The Checkout test button is unchanged and still never places an order. See History and the Checkout test.
- Changed: test orders are never counted as payment gateway signal or in the Checkout Health Score.
- Changed: with PRO active, the free plugin’s Test order screen links to PRO’s Test orders screen.
Know before you switch on the schedule
- Test orders do not test your real payment methods.
- Other plugins that react to new orders may still act on a test order, and order numbers are used up.
- Scheduled runs depend on WordPress background tasks, so the timing is approximate.
See What test orders do to your store, and A test order failed, could not run, or the schedule switched off if a run does not go as expected.
